I was on the E train when someone who appeared to be Chescaleigh got on. At first I starred at her because she was beautiful but then I realized that she seemed familiar. I think at Jackson she sat next to me and I was freaking out, trying not to stare. So when I got on the bus, I was checking my feed and I saw that she posted a picture in THE SAME SHIRT AND MAKEUP.
Wowowowowowow, this is like the first time I actually met someone famous, I mean, she was on Anderson Cooper for gods sake. What an awesome way to end the day.

I’ve said this a billion times (and every time I start with “I’ve said this a billion times”), but Eric is the person that pushed me to get into comedy. He is so ridiculously funny and hardworking, that it’s no surprise that he’s kicking 2012’s ass. He’s currently a lead on ABC’s Don’t Trust the B in apt 23, which just got picked up for a second season, and now has his OWN TALK SHOW on Adult Swim. Dreyfoos really is taking over.

The silhouette on the paper target is faceless. But the hoodie, the Skittles and the iced tea leave nothing to the imagination. This is meant to be Travyon Martin, the unarmed 17-year-old shot to death in February in Sanford, Florida. The unidentified internet merchant told Mike DeForest, a reporter for Orlando television station WKMG, that he sold out the silhouettes in two days. The targets come in packages of 10.

The twisted cretin who had these printed said: “My main motivation was to make money off the controversy.” Just business, man. Nothing personal.

It’s not hard to imagine what buyers of the Trayvon targets say to each other when they’re on the firing line. And when they say “fucking coons,” they don’t mumble.

Thanks for explaining where you’re coming from. I get why you made that correlation. I hope you’ll try to see where I’m coming from as well. I’m in no way trying to validate Shane’s content or saying that it’s ok for anyone to perpetuate bigotry, mysogany and ignorance. But I prefer to pick my battles. In my opinion, Shane is a lost cause. In all honesty, I really try to avoid talking about him but for whatever reason, i’ve been getting a lot of questions about him. The few times I’ve mentioned him in the past, I’ve gotten mountains of hate mail from his fans. They’re insane. I’ve even spoken directly to him via Twitter about my issues with content and it was a complete waste of time. He refused to listen and then complained to his fans that I was a “bully” so they trolled me on Twitter for over a week.

With that being said, I really try to produce content that’s funny but also intelligent and meaningful. I’ve done videos about safe sex, body image, HIV testing, slut shaming, reproductive rights, dispelling stereotypes, homophobic hate speech, the importance of education and racism. I can’t change Shane Dawson, so I focus on what I can do and start there. Hope this clears things up.

Ummmm that’s not what I’m saying at all. My response has nothing to do with slavery. I’m saying that his ignorant “jokes” pull in millions of views and make him tons of money. So in his mind, his content is successful. Subscribers and critics have complained for YEARS about his content and he’s not interested in changing it because in his mind, it’s working. As the saying goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. I’m not saying it’s right, I’m saying it’s a waste of time to say “aw I wish Shane Dawson would stop being so offensive” because he’s not going to stop. While incredibly offensive, his videos aren’t taking away my human rights.

I honestly can't watch Shane's videos! He fetishizes his friend Shanna, and constantly makes rape "jokes". I used to watch his videos and daily vlogs but I can't even get through them without being triggered! And he says he reads his comments but that must nit be true because I have posted comments on several of his videos asking him to stop with the jokes (I wish he'd stop with other things too but) and he continues making the most vile rape jokes. I wish he would listen.

hate to tell you, but he’s read your comments and he doesn’t care. rape jokes and neck swerving shanaynay videos have made him one of the richest people on YouTube. there’s really no reason (in his mind) to do stop doing the “jokes” that have built his career.

Breaking News of the Day: Obama Backs Gay Marriage: [UPDATED] President Obama has publicly announced his support for gay marriage in an interview today with Robin Roberts. (Watch the video here.)

I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or Marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.

Obama, who is the first U.S. president to openly back gay marriage, had come under fire this week for remaining mum on the subject after Joe Biden and Arne Duncan publicly declared their support. The president’s announcement comes a day after North Carolina voted in favor of a constitutional amendment that bans marriage equality.

Obama’s interview will appear on ABC’s Good Morning America on Thursday. Excerpts will air tonight on ABC’s World News with Diane Sawyer.

I don’t think working out has improved my posture but my trainer is constantly reminding me to stand up straight. I’ve also been going to the chiropractor for about a month now and really trying to be more concious of it. I have a slight scoliosis and have suffered from bad posture as a result.

Chesca and the 28 day challenge - week 2 (via Chescavlogs)

Why look! If it isn’t a photo of my exposed midsection for all the internet to see! Hurray. I’ll admit, I’m cringing as I post this, but I’m slowly getting over it. I’m telling myself this will have been worth the embarrassment, once I have a 6 pack. So in an effort to achieve the 3 A’s (arms, abs and ass) I’m embarking on the 28 day challenge with personal trainer Robert Brace. I’m working with Robert in person, but he’s also developed a dvd version of the plan and last year trained comedian Mark Malkoff for My Damn Channel’s “six pack abs challenge”. Not to be outdone by Mark, I’m posting weekly videos about the challenge over on Chescavlogs. I’m only 2 weeks in and can already see a pretty significant change in my body, but it hasn’t come easily. I’m working my ass off. Literally.

Besides working out 6 days a week, the biggest challenge thus far has been sticking with my new super clean diet. But as they say, “Abs are made in the kitchen.” So I’m doing my best to hang in there and resist the urge to drink or eat doughnuts. Believe me, it’s hard, but so far, completely worth it.
