Almost 450,000 viewers tune in to 20-year-old Tessa Violet, a k a MeekaKitty, as she rants about infomercials, video games and whatever else pops in her mind while she hangs out in her mom’s apartment. And she’s not just doing it for the thrill of being watched. Violet gets cash every time someone views her videos. Some video bloggers can pull in $6,000 a month depending on the traffic and the clicks they generate.

Just spotted a few of my friends and favorite vloggers (DeStorm, Meekakitty and theWillofdc) over on the NY Post’s website. It’s so amazing and inspiring to see my friends working hard, pumping out great content and making a living off of YouTube! It’s pretty amazing that today, you can totally build your own career in your living room via social media. My friends and peers are living proof! Don’t you worry kids, I’m getting my butt in gear so I can be right up there with them come 2011! Congrats guys, I’m really proud!
