Stand-Up for Diversity

I’ll be heading to Chicago this weekend to audition for NBC’s 5th annual Stand up for Diversity Showcase. NBC is looking for the most diverse stand-up comedians to perform in an LA showcase for industry agents, casting directors, tv executives for future casting and development opportunities.

I bought my ticket on a whim after spending a sleepless Saturday night writing new material and contemplating my career. Eric performed in the final showcase 2 years ago and got a lot of great exposure as a result. Since NBC isn’t coming to South Florida this year, I decided to go to them and make a trip out of it. I’ll be staying with one of my closest girlfriends, Amanda, who I haven’t seen in a year and will be meeting up with some of my old college classmates from Michigan as well. Wish me to break multiple limbs on stage, to date, this will be the biggest audition I’ve ever been to. eeeeeeep!
