Chescaleigh is looking for an intern!

“Shit White Girls Say…to Black Girls” has opened crazy doors for me. I’m currently working on a few tv projects, developing a new website, doing social media consulting, and regularly speaking on panels in addition to (barely) running my three YouTube channels. In the past, I’ve seen bloggers take on interns and using them as free labor instead of actually TEACHING them anything. I want to assure you that will not be the case here. My goal is to pass on some of the things I’ve learned over the course of my blogging career, in addition to getting some much needed help. (more info after the jump)
Who should apply for this internship?
I’m looking for someone with an interest or experience in one or more of the following: photography, photo retouching, graphic design, natural hair, fashion, video editing and production, blogging, public relations, motion graphics, content montezation, HTML & CSS, Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr. If your skills in any of these areas is limited, that’s totally ok. I’m willing to teach someone that has a desire to learn!
What will I be doing and what will I learn?
I’m looking for someone to help manage my online and offline projects. As we work together you’ll learn and get experience with online content strategies, video production, audience development and press outreach.
Do I need to live in New York?
Not necessarily. A lot of the things can be done from home, but I’m also looking for help with filming, editing and a few other things that need to be done in person. I would also like to meet for lunch at least once a week to go over projects. With that being said, I’m open to the idea of having one local and one digital intern but ultimately would prefer someone based in New York City.
Am I gonna be working for free?
Unfortunatly this is an unpaid position, but I can offer a small stipend to cover the cost of lunch for our weekly meetings. Also, there will be lots of invaluable networking opportunities and you’ll also be credited for any contributions to my site and YouTube channel(s). At most this position will require 5 -10 hours a week.
How do I apply?
Just send a cover letter and resume to framsey@franchesca.net! Please be sure to include any relevant links (blog, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, website, portfolio or projects you’ve worked on) along with your availability. I’ll be accepting resumes through Monday, September 3rd with plans to schedule interviews by mid month. Thanks for your interest!
