Couch to 5k iPhone app $2.99 via Felt TipCouch to 5k is an app for your iPhone or iPod touch that will help you get into shape using a 3-days-a-week workout program spanning 9 weeks culminating in your ability to run a full 5 km or 3.1 miles

This is my 3rd time starting the Couch to 5k Program and I have to say this time around is the best yet. The first time I started the program was in college using the Ullreys.com podcast and I got to about week 6 before stopping because of a knee injury. My main pet peeve with that podcast was the music. it was downright AWFUL. It was really cheesy house music and I absolutely hated running to it. So the second time around I used another podcast by Suz of kissmyblackass.com Suz’s podcast is exactly the same as the other couch to 5k programs but instead has a mix of hip-hop, R&B and pop. I didn’t mind the music, but I just found myself getting bored running to the same playlist 3 days in a row. Plus, some of the songs just didn’t get me in the mood.
So, the Felt Tip iPhone app was a perfect solution for me because you can use your own music! You just start your playlist and then start the app and a voice prompt tells you the appropriate times to run and walk, based on where you are in the program. Love it. I have 4 weeks left, so hopefully I can stick with it and reach my goal of running a 5k in the Spring.
