My bun was patted down by the TSA tonight. I jokingly thought it might happen and even contemplated taking my bun down to avoid it, but after the recent discovery of cocaine in a woman’s locs in a Thailand airport, I can’t say I blame them for checking…But I’m still not sure how I feel about it.

the same thing happened to me! The alarm kept ringing and they said it was because of all the pins I had in my updo. The security guards were like, ‘So, you didn’t think about doing a different style?’ -__-

I feel like it would have been less intrusive if they asked you to take it down first? I guess it depends on if your style was intricate or not…Its a very, hazy area between thorough and intrusive.

That happened to me a month ago. My locs are a little over shoulder length, so my bun is pretty small. I felt extremely awkward as i bent down to let the woman half my height, molest my hair. Cringe worthy moment.

I have yarn braids & the TSA patted down my hair in ATL a few weeks ago. My hair was down; it wasn’t even up in a bun & I had no pins in my hair =/
